Alison: A Real Estate Trailblazer
Meet Alison, the powerhouse behind decades of real estate success, fueled by boundless energy, authenticity, and a sharp eye for design. Back in the early '90s, when the market was down and everyone thought she was nuts, Alison boldly left her high-powered role as a National Sales Manager—overseeing retailers across Canada, no less—to dive headfirst into real estate. Starting fresh in Burlington, she hit the ground running, selling an impressive 50 homes her first year, all without the support of a team (team concepts weren’t even a thing back then!). Her secret? Three open houses every weekend—one on Saturday and two on Sunday—all aimed at meeting just one potential buyer or seller per event.
Alison wasn’t about high-pressure sales. Instead, she used her open house meetings to build trust, offering consultations that focused on safety, smart financial planning, and clear next steps. “Don’t stretch yourselves,” she’d say. “Banks calculate your gross wages, but you take your net home.” Buyers loved her practical, no-nonsense advice. Sellers appreciated her design flair, as she’d suggest cost-effective tweaks to showcase their homes in the best light—long before staging was even a buzzword.
In fact, Alison’s talent for design led her to create a full-fledged staging division exclusively for her clients. With two warehouses of furniture and décor at her disposal, she transformed homes to maximize their appeal. Lou wasn’t allowed to buy another investment property (much to his dismay), but Alison did let him buy a moving truck to support the staging efforts—doubling it as a free resource for clients’ moves.
Always innovating, Alison also spearheaded the creation of the We’ve Got You Covered program, designed to provide peace of mind to buyers and sellers. This exclusive program protects against unexpected surprises during and after the sale, offering additional services to ensure every transaction is as smooth as possible. True to Alison’s approach, it’s just one more way she goes above and beyond to put her clients first.
Alison’s philosophy has always been about helping people first, with business growth and services naturally following. When Lou suffered a massive stroke in 2021, it was her unshakable determination and the strength of the team she built that kept everything running. Others might have given up, but Alison’s leadership turned adversity into resilience, ensuring her clients and team continued to thrive.
She’s not just a real estate expert—she’s a trailblazer, a creative force, and the heart of a business that continues to grow through dedication, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to helping people achieve their dreams.
